BRIEF: Develop a magazine style and it's contents to promote the hit US TV drama Lost

A castaway theme was required by the editor, so the first objective was to create a distressed looking style with mottled text effects created in Photoshop. A stenciled effect was used for treating images and to give the impression the magazine had washed up on the shoreline, similar to the crash survivors.

Photography was replicated and overlayed to create contrast and add drama, while messages and the mysterious numbers were hidden throughout the mag to encourage readers to explore. Limited edition covers were also developed (without coverlines) with exclusive content available through subscriptions.
